PortAventura Convention Centre has been recognised for the second consecutive year as one of the three ‘Best European Convention Centres’ outside the UK, at the latest edition of the M&IT Awards in London, an international awards event that for 35 years has annually gathered together professionals from the corporate events industry, and are considered the “Oscars of the sector”. In addition, PortAventura Convention Centre was also awarded Gold for ‘Best Venue’ at the 18th edition of the eventoplus Awards, the sector’s benchmark event in Spain and Portugal.

These awards recognise PortAventura’s management, the excellence of the services offered by PortAventura Business & Events, the company’s infrastructure which is unique in the sector, and its privileged Mediterranean setting.

Malin Nilsson, Director of PortAventura Business & Events, celebrated this achievement, noting that “these awards are a sign of the trust and satisfaction of our clients, who choose PortAventura Business & Events, instead of the many other options, to hold their most important corporate events, where excellence is an essential condition. At PortAventura Business & Events we work every day to guarantee the highest quality and offer the most cutting-edge services in terms of versatility, innovation and sustainability. This achievement would not be possible without the dedicated team of professionals that make up PortAventura Business & Events who, for us, are undoubtedly the most important asset within the company. Finally, I would like to thank you for the opportunity to be part of these unmissable gatherings for the sector, where we are able to draw on the great strengths and knowledge of our colleagues”.

In the first half of the year, PortAventura Business & Events hosted nearly 250 events for both national and international companies, of very different types (corporate, charity, sporting, team building events, eSports, congresses…) and from different sectors, ranging from pharmaceuticals to consultancy, transport, banking and consumer goods, among others.

In order to adapt to the specific needs of each client, PortAventura Convention Centre has 24 multifunctional rooms with the capacity to simultaneously accommodate 6,000 people in an area of more than 20,000m2. But it also has six hotels inside the resort and two affiliated hotels outside the complex, which provide a comfortable stay for attendees; and allows participants access to PortAventura Park and Ferrari Land, which house leisure facilities and offer exclusive areas for gala dinners, outdoor cocktails, team building activities, and shows.

PortAventura Convention Centre also stands out for its sustainable approach, something more and more demanded by companies to meet their sustainability objectives and minimise their impact on the environment and society. PortAventura Business & Events offers its clients a range of practices in line with this aim, from the reuse and optimisation of materials, to carbon footprint offsetting, sustainable waste management and the selection of local products.

In this sense, as part of PortAventura World, in April 2023, PortAventura Business & Events managed to join the B Corp movement, a milestone that recognises the work of the convention centre in terms of sustainability, social responsibility and good governance.
