Tarragona and the PortAventura Convention Centre were chosen as the venues for the Pulp & Paper Industry Transport Symposium (world symposium for the transport of forest products). Organised by the International Forest Products Transport Association (IFPTA), the Port of Tarragona and together with the collaboration of Euroports and Fastmarkets RISI, this event took place from 16 to 18 September.

Held for the first time in Spain, this major world summit has welcomed nearly 400 representatives from the sector and more than 50 exhibitors from 25 different countries. During the two days, PPI Transport Symposium held two conferences, nine round table discussions and four targeted workshops at PortAventura Convention Centre.

The main objective of the conference was to analyse the trends of world transport, material handling and distribution of forest products, the future evolution of transport such as trains and ships, emerging markets and the digitalisation of the sector.

The event brought together exhibitors from Europe, North America, South America, Asia, Oceania and the Middle East. Pulp and paper production company executives, manufacturers of wood products, port facilities managers, logistics providers, carriers, and technology suppliers, amongst other guests, attended this important event in the sector.

The exhibition hall and the conference hall of the summit took place at PortAventura Convention Centre, which was customised for the occasion. One of the nights attendees enjoyed a cocktail dinner at the Lumine Beach Club (located a few minutes by transfer from the Convention Centre itself).

During these days, attendees stayed at Hotel PortAventura, near the PortAventura Convention Centre, which was completely renovated this year.
