Kimi Räikkönen enjoyed an innovative and adrenaline fuelled experience at brand new Ferrari Land theme park and didn’t miss the opportunity to ride Red Force, the highest vertical accelerator in Europe

Kimi Räikkönen, Scuderia Ferrari driver, paid his first ever visit to Ferrari Land; the only European theme park dedicated to the legendary Italian automotive brand. The Finnish driver enjoyed and explored the record-breaking attractions at Ferrari Land, the latest park to open at PortAventura World.

Scuderia Ferrari development driver Marc Gené hosted Kimi Räikkönen on his tour of Ferrari Land. In addition, both drivers were able to experience the vertical accelerator Red Force: the highest and fastest roller coaster in Europe and a symbol of speed, technology and innovation.

Before returning to training for the Catalunya Formula 1 Grand Prix, Kimi Räikkönen left a signed racing suit that will be added to the incredible collection of artefacts on display in Ferrari Land.

The park is one of the top family destinations in Europe. It hosts 11 attractions for the whole family: Ferrari Experience which includes Racing Legends and Flying Dreams; the park’s two immersive attractions. Europe’s tallest and fastest rollercoaster Red Force and the Thrill Towers crown the skyline of PortAventura and Ferrari Land also features attractions where visitors can put their driving skills to the test such as the semi-professional simulators of Pole Position Challenge, the Maranello Grand Race racing circuit and Pit Stop Record – an activity that challenges budding mechanics to change all four wheels of a full-scale Formula 1 car.

To complete the experience, visitors can enjoy Ristorante Cavallino, a traditional Italian trattoria inspired by the restaurant in Maranello (Ferrari headquarters); a themed Fast Food restaurant, Pit Lane; and delicious Italian ice cream parlours like Ice Cream Box. What’s more, the Ferrari Land Store stocks a selection of the most exclusive official branded merchandise.

SoftwareONE, a leading provider of Technology and Software Portfolio Management solutions and services, recently brought together 850 employees from Europe, the Middle East and Africa for its annual Kick Off to review and consider new objectives and strategies for 2017.

 

For three days, the SoftwareONE team took over the entire Convention Centre, all meeting rooms in Hotel Caribe, and some in Hotel PortAventura, making use of a total of 28 subcommittee rooms. The company also took advantage of a large plenary space for the 850 delegates, exclusive accommodation at Hotel PortAventura and Hotel Caribe, and the buffet restaurants at the hotels for lunchtime services.

For the first night of the event, SoftwareONE delegates enjoyed exclusive access to a PortAventura Park area where various rides and games areas were available and a theme dinner was held at La Cantina Mexican restaurant.

The Kick Off closed with an all-night party in the Alexandria Room of the Convention Centre with food trucks and DJ.

American Express Meetings & Events España holds annual kick-off at PortAventura Convention Centre and PortAventura Park.

During the two-day event, the 150 delegates participated in professional meetings and a series of team-building and gamification activities.

The participants stayed at the exclusive Hotel Callaghan’s with direct access to PortAventura Park, where they enjoyed a team-building activity. In the evening, a gala dinner was held at the Gran Opera restaurant of the Gold River Hotel, followed by a exclusive party at the Far-West Saloon of PortAventura Park.

After 20 years, the Special Olympic Games has returned to Reus in collaboration with PortAventura World which participated in the organization of the games and contributed to their success; an edition that has marked a turning point in their history, according to the organizing committee.

 

Held at the Gran Teatro Imperial of PortAventura Park’s China theme area on 25 November, the opening ceremony included a welcome speech delivered by Arturo Mas-Sardà, Chairman of the Board of PortAventura World. Following this, the traditional parade of the delegations participating at the games took place, after which the official Special Olympics flag was presented and the torch was lit. Finally, the spectators were treated to a Christmas show at the Gran Teatro.

The ceremony was also attended by Carles Pellicer, Major of Reus, and Miguel Sagarra, President of Special Olympics Spain, who enjoyed a magical evening along with the rest of the guests. During the ceremony emphasis was placed on promoting a world without frontiers or flags, where the athletes took centre stage.

After the opening ceremony, a party was held at PortAventura World’s El Paso Hotel, where the delegation members stayed during the Special Olympic Games.

PortAventura Business & Events handled logistics, including welcoming and accommodating the 800 athletes from all over Spain and another 18 countries, together with 200 trainers, 400 voluntary workers, 100 voluntary medical staff and members of the organization, for the 2016 Special Olympic Games Spain, the most important sports event in the world for people with intellectual disabilities.

PortAventura Convention Centre hosted on September 21 and 22 the present edition of Tupperware’s Jubilee 2016 in Spain. This year, marked the company’s 50th anniversary in Spain.

The event was attended by 800 people who excitedly welcomed the presentation of the company’s “Confidence becomes you” commitment which allows Tupperware to be “helping hand” when women are busy being their best. Also at Jubilee, The latest brand and catalogs from the 2016 and 2017 autumn and winter seasons were shared with the help of famous chef Julio Fernandez Quintero, holder of a Michelin star, a ccooking show was developed to showcase different recipes using the new Micro Urban. This compact product is for cooking in the microwave, and is the perfect product for all generations, especially millennials.

The Convention included: a welcome gala dinner, product launches, and a celebration to recognize the well done work of the sales force. All events were held in the great Sala Alexandria of the Convention Center of PortAventura, which enabled setting a spectacular scenery for Tupperware. The choice for the dinner of the second night consisted in the exclusive area of Mexico and its restaurant La Cantina of PortAventura Park, a large space that allows dinners for events with this magnitude. The event ended with an award ceremony, a contest of costumes and a special show.

20 estudiantes pre-universitarios participaron el pasado mes de julio en la 3ª edición del programa “Leading Program 2015”. Una formación para fomentar el liderazgo y la creatividad entre estudiantes y futuros talentos en el mundo de negocios.

Este mes de julio Jaume Giró, Sor Lucia Caram, Ventura Clotet entre otros, fueron los responsables de incentivar con sus clases magistrales a los 20 estudiantes que obtuvieron las mejores calificaciones a las Pruebas de Acceso a la Universidad (PAU), bajo el proyecto Leading Program BCN 2015 que tuvo lugar durante los días 13 y 17 de julio con el patrocinio de CaixaBank. Programa con un objetivo claro: incentivar el liderazgo, creatividad, el talento y la innovación entre jóvenes con excelentes resultados académicos.

Este 2015, se celebró la 3ª edición que surgió a partir de la motivación e interés de 4 jóvenes universitarios nacidos en 1992, que decidieron crear su propia empresa en 2013 con el nombre de bcnmoments.

Con la visión puesta en ‘despertar’ la curiosidad de estos estudiantes pre-universitarios el ‘Leading Program’ creó un ‘Business Experience’ durante el mes de julio con 3 fases diferenciales para dar de primera mano una visión del trabajo día a día del sector de los negocios:

La primera, consistía en la visita corporativa a las instalaciones y oficinas de empresas del sector pre seleccionadas para los alumnos para situarlos en un entorno de negocio y de este modo ponerlos en contexto. Seguidamente, los alumnos recibían una ‘masterclass’ impartida por un alto directivo de la compañía.

A continuación y para cerrar la jornada del programa, los alumnos ponían en práctica a través de talleres prácticos todo aquello que habían aprendido en la jornada: potenciar sus habilidades dinámicas de grupo, trabajo en equipo o como gestionar y llevar a cabo un ‘Business Plan’ con casos reales. Todo ello para  potenciar sus roles directivos i sus capacidades como emprendedores, creativos y comunicadores.

 #LPBCN15, ha sido todo un éxito en esta última edición, que de buen grado ha logrado potenciar el líder que lleva cada uno de los 20 elegidos a presenciar dichas jornadas por obtener  las mejores notas del PAU 2015.

El Centro de Convenciones de PortAventura protagonizó una de las jornadas del ‘Leading Program BCN 2015’ donde acogió en sus salas a las 20 futuras promesas del sector de negocios. Además de las ponencias, los alumnos disfrutaron de una visita guiada por las instalaciones y conocieron algunos de los funcionamientos del resort. Una jornada donde el aprendizaje fue plato principal para aquellos que un día soñaran en ser líderes de su propio negocio.

On 5th February, at the Hotel Fairmont Monte Carlo in Monaco was held one of the most important business networking events in the worldwide MICE industry: CONFEC Red 2015. Three days in which companies, British buyers and international suppliers exchanged views and experiences in this and the incentives sector.

José RodadoSenior International Sales Manager and Montse GarcíaSales Director of PortAventura Business & Events attended on behalf of the PortAventura Convention Centre, and positively confirmed that the sector is on the up compared to recent years.

With a programme focused on One-to-One meetings and networking, CONFEC, for yet another year, reaffirmed its position as a leading forum in the MICE market. The success of this edition was confirmed even before the event date (5th February) with all available supplier vacancies having been booked months in advance.

2014 has been the year of excellence for MICE industry events. Not only due to the conferences, networking, trade fairs and workshops that took place during the 365 days of the year, but also the mobilisation of attendees and the increasing demand within the sector. PortAventura Business & Events has played a very active role in this progress.

Participating in the M&IT Agency Challenge together with several agencies, learning of the different experiences and getting the various testimonials from the many guests that have passed through the Convention Centre facilities, not to mention the musical event in Festival CapRoig 2014 held in the Caproig Botanical Garden in Girona with special guest Antonio Orozco,  were just some of the events that we were involved in last year. They also included donning our ‘racing caps’ to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Rally RACC Catalunya – Costa Daurada and the events award gala ceremony ‘Eventoplus Awards’.

We also had the opportunity to relive major events at PortAventura such as the Peugeot Convention with visually stunning displays and staging, and to experience firsthand the three-day De’Longhi Group  Convention where we had the pleasure of hearing the testimony given by Alex Barnett, CEO of the De’Longhi Group in Spain and Portugal, among many other events.

Each and every one of these experiences have brought added value to the brand of PortAventura Business & Events.

Therefore 2014 will only surpassed by this one.
