Montse García, the Sales Development Manager from  PortAventura Business & Events and PortAventura Convention Centre has spent the past few days of 1 and 2 March 2013 attending the first edition of The Meetings Space 2013 event in Berlin. Organised by Lorraine Hall, the main objective of the event was to gather the most influential buyers in the same setting, at the impressive Grand Hyatt hotel in Berlin, along with the most important suppliers for the MICE sector in Europe.

The central theme of the event was the workshop with strategic meetings scheduled in advance between suppliers and buyers, mostly from the United Kingdom and Germany.  However, other team building activities were organised, a gala dinner and the pioneering « Ideas Exchange Breakfast ». This consisted of a breakfast where buyers and suppliers worked in groups discussing subjects of interest using guidance notes prepared by the organisation. Another important innovation was the use of an application for mobile devices, iPads or tablets: which allowed all on-site information to be managed.

The Meetings Space 2013 was characterised by the quality of the buyers, individually chosen based a thorough and detailed selection process. Due to the success of this first edition, a new edition is scheduled to be held for the French-speaking market in mid-October 2013, as well as the next 2014 edition in Berlin.
