Sustainable Events at PortAventura B&E
As an active economic, social and environmental representative, PortAventura Business & Events integrates responsible and sustainable management. Member of the GMIC (Green Meeting Industry Council), the 13,000m2 of the PortAventura Convention Centre is integrated into its Mediterranean surroundings thanks to, among other things, the decoration of the outdoor areas with native species of plants and flowers.
Also of importance is the construction of eco-sustainable facilities that, for example, take maximum advantage of the natural light. The hotels use low-energy lighting and systems are in place to minimise water consumption and generation of wastes. Also implemented throughout the PortAventura resort is a centralised energy management system, which optimises use of the air conditioning equipment, reducing consumption.
Other measures that permit “Sustainable Events” to be held at PortAventura B&E are, for example, the use of recycled materials (paper, pencils, etc) and reusable items (glass bottles and drinks tumblers) in the conference rooms, differentiation of wastes throughout the resort and the preparation of our menus (Brain Food) with local, eco-friendly and sustainable produce.
However it should also be noted that PortAventura has always stood out due to its social commitment, facilitating access for people with different disabilities and channelling its social actions through the PortAventura Foundation. Thanks to this foundation, companies can also hold events that are not only sustainable, but which can also benefit Charity.
