Exclusive opening of the amusement park

Tomorrow, Tuesday 21st May 2013, sees the start of IMEX 2013 in the city of Frankfurt and PortAventura Business & Events will be there. In this event, Franck Bárbaras – Director of Business & Events, PortAventura Convention Centre – together with Jordi Yera – Sales Executive Business & Events, PortAventura Convention Centre – will be attending one of the most important international trade fairs for the MICE sector. As exhibitors (you can find us at the trade fair in Pavilion 8 Spanien, Stand E300), PortAventura B&E will demonstrate to potential clients, companies and agencies, its main selling points: ability to adapt, versatility of available spaces, exclusive opening of areas, location, etc. In this way, it is positioned, yet again, as an ideal location for incentive trips, meetings and events.
Three intense days, with an elaborate programme filled with innovative ideas, aimed at creating a unique environment to favour better business opportunities. In addition to a complete and free educational programme, another unique concept offered by IMEX 2013 is its continuous capacity for innovation, ability to adapt to the needs of the different sector representatives and use of the latest technological tools such as the creation of an IMEX 2013 application for mobile telephones and tablets and its presence on the main social networks.
On 10, 11 and 12 October 2012 the Sharp European Convention was held at the PortAventura Convention Centre. The aim of this event was the presentation of “Sharp Optimed Services”; the launch of a series of software applications for clients to optimise the return on their investments in A3 Multi-function systems (MFP), a new generation of products designed by Sharp. The new applications can be used to increase office productivity and efficiency, whilst at the same time controlling costs and reducing waste. It also clearly showed Sharp’s hard work in managing to make work easier with tools for smartphones and tablets, especially suitable for professionals that travel extensively for business purposes.
PortAventura Business & Events welcomed more than 750 delegates from all over the world. The main feature of the work agenda was the plenary session held in the Alexandría room. In addition to the professional activities, Sharp delegates were able to enjoy a complete leisure programme: networking in unique locations, a gala dinner in La Cantina (with the corresponding exclusive opening of México) and a Golf tournament for attendees. On 1, 2 and 3 October 2012, PortAventura Business & Events was the location selected to hold the 10th edition of the L’Oréal Business Forum 2012 (LBF). Around 2000 professionals from 45 countries came together at a unique gathering that combined to perfection master classes and workshops, complemented by a complete leisure agenda. Once again the French events organisation agency EKYPAGE was entrusted with the task of finding an exceptional location to satisfy very precise requisites and with the capacity to accommodate an event of this magnitude. For this, the PortAventura B&E team, together with 10 members from the agency, were working on the site for more than one year.
One of the central aspects of the 2012 edition of this international gathering was to strengthen the relationship between stylist and client, with the tagline: Love your clients! The delegates and guests stayed at the hotels PortAventura, Caribe and Gold River. The leisure part, targeted at stimulating interaction amongst the professionals, took place in Mediterrània with the opening of this area exclusively for attendees of LBF 2012. One of the great highlights was the “Lake Party” with live music and performances on the lake, among other activities.
Each day the multi-functional rooms of the PortAventura Convention Centre played host, among other things, to a spectacular demonstration by internationally-renowned stylists. During the first day, the Rizos team took charge of the opening ceremony. On the second day, three stylists – Isabelle Lechance (Canada), Filip Galas (Poland) and Lefty Kikeris (Greece) – presented the “H3” event. The closing ceremony was the moment selected for the French stylist Zemmour to present L’Oréal Professionnel‘s autumn/winter collection.
Once again PortAventura Business & Events demonstrated its talent for organisation and adaptation to the specific requirements demanded by an event of this nature. More than 70 people were responsible for setting up the spectacular scenery prepared for the shows and demonstrations. For example, in April 2012 the multinational Unilever held its annual sales convention; an event characterised by corporate integration. More than 200 sales delegates from the Anglo-Dutch multinational gathered at PortAventura Business & Events to combine synergies in the face of new product campaigns. The aim of the event was also to promote team spirit in all its activities.
For this reason, following the work sessions, all participants at the Unilever event enjoyed the exclusive use of a trip through the Mediterrània area and a party in the Polynesia area. The gala dinner took place in the customised Sala Bosc followed by a show from the “castellers” and a firework and musical extravaganza. This is just one example that demonstrates the versatility that PortAventura premises have to offer and their customised client care services.
