PortAventura Foundation’s 1st "Cursa Solidaria"

On 4 November 2012, the company Running Solutions joined forces with PortAventura in the PortAventura Foundation’s 1st Cursa Solidària; two road races of 4.5km and 10km in addition to other shorter fun runs for children with a route based around the theme park. All proceeds from the race went to buying food essentials for the Tarragona region Food Bank Foundation.  This charity race is just one of the foundation’s many social and environmental commitments.

The start and finish for the runners was situated at the PortAventura Business & Events Convention Centre. The 10km 1st “Cursa Solidària” saw 737 runners taking part, including the Spanish champion Jaume Leiva, who also came in first place. He took 30 minutes and 26 seconds. In the 4.5km, the runner from the same team Runnersworld Tarragona, Sergi Hidalgo, was awarded first place with a time of 16 minutes and 36 seconds.
